Marcus T. - Lead Technician, NFPA 211 Level 2 Inspector
Marcus has been climbing roofs in DuPage and Will counties for fourteen years. He holds a Level 2 inspection certification from the National Fireplace Institute and specializes in diagnosing draft problems in multi-flue chimneys, the kind common in Naperville’s 1980s and 90s subdivisions where builders squeezed two fireplaces onto one chase. He’ll tell you exactly why your smoke chamber is pulling wrong, then show you the thermal image to prove it. Off the clock, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles in a garage near Route 59 and argues with his brother about Bears draft picks.
Diana R. - Senior Installer, Liner & Rebuild Specialist
Diana joined us after eight years with a masonry contractor in Joliet, and she handles our stainless steel flue liner installations and full rebuilds. She’s certified in HeatShield cerfractory flue sealant application and DuraFlex liner sizing, and she’s the one who crawls into the tight attics above Naperville’s historic Near West Side homes to measure for a proper fit. Diana once found a 1920s newspaper stuffed into a chimney breast on Gartner Road; she photographed it, sealed it back in, and noted the location on the job record. She grows tomatoes in raised beds and brings the extras to the office in August.
James K. - Service Coordinator & Dispatch
James answers the phones and schedules the routes, but he also built our current dispatch system after getting tired of telling customers “someone will call you back.” He knows which technician lives closest to Cress Creek, which crew has the right ladder for a three-story home near the Riverwalk, and whether the permit office in Naperville or Aurora needs to be notified for a crown rebuild. James spent three years as a chimney sweep himself before a knee injury moved him indoors, so he can explain creosote classes accurately while he’s booking your appointment. He coaches a U12 soccer team in Lisle and has never missed a match.
Elena V. - Apprentice Technician, Second-Year Training
Elena is in her second year of hands-on training under Marcus, working through the Chimney Safety Institute of America’s sweep certification program. She already runs the camera on most Level 2 inspections and has developed a sharp eye for spalling brick and deteriorated mortar joints, especially on chimneys exposed to Naperville’s freeze-thaw cycles without proper crown overhang. Elena asks more questions than anyone on the crew, which is exactly why we hired her. She lives in an apartment near Downtown Naperville and walks the Riverwalk most evenings with her dog, a beagle named Soot.
