Copperfield Chimney Liner & Rebuild Nationwide

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Copperfield Chimney Liner & Rebuild in Naperville: What to Know First

We provide independent Copperfield chimney liner and rebuild service in Naperville, with most jobs quoted in writing within 24 hours of your call and completed within one to two weeks of approval. A typical Copperfield stainless steel liner replacement runs $2,800 to $4,200 in this market; partial rebuilds start around $3,500 and full rebuilds range from $6,500 to $12,000 depending on height and access. We are not affiliated with or authorized by Copperfield, but we have installed, repaired, and replaced their products in Naperville homes since 2014, including a cluster of original Copperfield installations out near the Riverwalk corridor where clay flue deterioration tends to accelerate.

This page is for homeowners who know they’ve got a Copperfield product in their chimney and need straight information on whether it can be repaired, what it costs, and who can do the work without voiding whatever warranty remains. How Copperfield Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Copperfield UltraPro flexible liner: crevice corrosion at the collar weld. We’ve pulled dozens of these in Naperville homes built between 2005 and 2015. The 316Ti alloy holds up fine in the flue itself, but the factory collar weld is a stress concentrator. Moisture from reverse draft or a missing cap pools there, and the crevice opens into a crack that leaks flue gases into the smoke chamber. We cut back to sound metal, install a custom-fabricated collar with full penetration welds, and pressure-test before we leave.
  • Copperfield rigid stainless tee assemblies: thermal fatigue at the snout. The tee snout on older rigid systems, especially the 6-inch and 8-inch lines common in two-story Naperville colonials, cycles through expansion and contraction every burn season. After eight to ten years the metal work-hardens and cracks circumferentially. We replace with a DuraFlex or Olympia Chimney tee matched to the existing flue diameter, or source OEM if the homeowner prefers. The camera shows you the crack before we quote; no guessing.
  • Copperfield smooth-wall flexible liners: mortar fall-through from degraded smoke chamber. These liners need a straight, clean pull. When the parged smoke chamber above the firebox has deteriorated, mortar chunks bind the liner during insertion or abrade the wall. In Naperville’s freeze-thaw climate, this happens faster than the manufacturer spec assumes. We parge the chamber with HeatShield Cerfractory Foam, let it cure, then pull the liner. The camera doesn’t guess. Neither do we.
  • Copperfield anchor plate systems: stainless-to-masonry galvanic separation. The anchor plate is supposed to center and support the liner at the chimney top. On some Copperfield systems from the 2010s, the plate stainless is dissimilar to the liner alloy, and the masonry interface spalls from the differential expansion. We remove the assembly, assess the crown and flue wall, and reinstall with a Gelco or Famco plate engineered for the local expansion coefficient, or rebuild the top course if the damage has progressed.
  • Copperfield transitional flexible-to-rigid connections: joint failure from improper support. The flex-to-rigid joint is a known weak point when the installer didn’t provide adequate support spacing per NFPA 211. The weight of the rigid section below the roofline pulls the joint apart over time. We find this in split-level homes near Naperville’s west side where the chimney run is long and vertical. Our fix is a supported transition with a custom bracket and a new connection sleeve, documented with photos for your record.

Our Copperfield Chimney Liner & Rebuild Process
  1. 1
Call and schedule. A live person answers. We ask the age of your home, the last inspection date, and any symptoms you’ve noticed. We book a Level 2 inspection with camera scan.
  2. 2
Inspection and documentation. Corrine or one of our uniformed, background-checked technicians arrives with a text notification. We run the camera the full flue length, photograph the liner condition, crown, smoke chamber, and firebox. You watch the feed in real time if you’re home.
  3. 3
Written price and scope. Within 24 hours you receive a written price, written scope of work, and written warranty terms. Clause 1 of the Haven Standard: have it in writing before anyone starts. If you have a competitor’s written estimate, we’ll provide a free second opinion.
  4. 4
Parts procurement. We source Copperfield OEM when available and appropriate, or specify quality aftermarket from DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, or Famco through our Haven buying network. You see the parts list and the warranty terms before we order.
  5. 5
Installation and testing. We perform the liner replacement or rebuild per manufacturer specification and NFPA 211. Every joint is inspected, every connection is pressure-tested or smoke-tested, and the camera runs again to confirm clear passage and proper seating.
  6. 6
Documentation and closeout. You receive a photo record of the completed work, a written warranty, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise. Clause 4 of the Haven Standard requires this documentation on every job. We have done so since 2009.

Why Naperville Homeowners Call Level Two Chimney Naperville for Copperfield Work

We’ve inspected and cleaned more than 38,000 chimneys since 2009. Every one had a written price before work started and a documented record when it was done. That practice became Clause 4 of the Haven Standard.

For Copperfield owners specifically, our value is multi-brand fluency. We know where Copperfield parts excel and where an aftermarket alternative from DuraFlex, HeatShield, or Gelco solves the problem more durably or at lower cost. We don’t default to OEM to protect a dealer relationship we don’t have. We’re independently owned and operated, and our only loyalty is to the work.

Our technicians are background-checked, uniformed, and named on your appointment. You get a text when they’re en route. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every job. And our live phone support runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, because chimney problems don’t wait for business hours.
