To identify yours: the model stamp sits on the damper frame’s left side, visible with a flashlight. If it’s rusted away, measure the throat opening width and depth, plus the plate thickness. Signs Your Famco Damper Repair Is Failing

• The plate won’t sit flat or wobbles on its pivot. This usually means the pivot pin has wallowed out its hole in the cast frame, or the plate itself has warped from years of uneven heating. In Naperville’s freeze-thaw cycle, that warp accelerates once it starts.
